„The Christ from Auschwitz”

for Tymbark

On the 4th of September the Public Library of the community of Tymbark was named after captain Tadeusz Paolone within the confines of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of WWII. During the ceremony, organized by local authorities and patriotic organizations of the community of Tymbark as well as Kraków’s department of the Institute of National Remembrance, Zofia Posmysz took part – writer and Auschwitz Survivor accompanied by the director of the IYMC Leszek Szuster, Masza Potocka, head of the Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK in Kraków and Falk Altenberger from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.



On the 4th of September the exhibition prepared by the Arolsen Archives - International Center on Nazi Persecution in Bad Arolsen/Germany entitled #StolenMemory was officially open in the IYMC. The Arolsen Archives – an institution belonging to the UNESCO’s Memory of the World has the world’s largest archive on the victims and survivors of the Nazi regime.

Seniora Theater

On the 1st of September 2019 the Seniora Theater from Dresden staged a theatrical reading of „The Christ from Auschwitz“ from Zofia Posmysz with a musical accompaniment by Jacek Hołubowski on the accordion in the forum of the IYMC.



The International Youth Meeting Center is partner in Europeans Win Ostracism: From Remembrance to a Dialogue Society (E-WORDS), financed in the 2017 Call of the Programme Europe for Citizens.
