The aim of the international seminars organized by the IYMC is to give young people a possibility to meet and get to know each other in the context of their personal background as well as the countries they come from and to learn together from the past for the future at the historical site of Auschwitz. In the educational process we use different forms and methods of education, i.e. guided tours, meetings with witnesses to history, workshops on particular topics, individual visits at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Site, work with original documents, literature, films, creative and artistic processing (writing, painting, photography, sculpture), maintenance works on the territory of the Memorial Site. For 30 years the educators of the International Youth Meeting Centre have been successfully organizing international seminars in cooperation with institutions working in the field of historical and civil education.
