On October 21st a concert of Adam Makowicz, polish and world-renowned jazz legend, took place at the International Youth Meeting Centre.
The artist performed not only his on creations but also played works by Duke Ellington, Erroll Garner, Benny Fenn, Thelonius Monk and George Gershwin.
After the concert the audience took part in a discussion with the artist, which was moderated by the Director of the IYMC Leszek Szuster. During this discussion the artist gave an insight into the early days of his career, his search for music, his fascination for swing and the history of polish jazz and about people and events which changed his view on jazz and inspired him.
After the event the vast majority of the 250 guests used the opportunity to have CDs signed by the artist, which were either bought on the spot or part of their collection.
The event was organized as a part of the 30th anniversary of the IYMC and under the patronage of the President of the City of Oświęcim.
